Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This policy explains how Constellation Design Services ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use our website (constellationdesignservices.co.uk), contact us, or use the customer portal. We are the data controller for this processing.

What we collect

  • Enquiries / demo requests — when you use our contact form: your name, email, company (optional), area of interest and message.
  • Customer portal accounts — if you hold a licence: your email, name, a securely hashed password, and your licence/entitlement records and device activations.
  • Technical data — limited server logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp) kept for security and to operate the service.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange demonstrations.
  • To provide and administer your licences and the customer portal.
  • To secure the service, prevent abuse, and meet our legal obligations.

Legal bases

We process enquiry data on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to you (and to take steps at your request before any contract). Portal and licence data is processed to perform our contract with you. Security logging relies on our legitimate interest in protecting the service.

Cookies

The marketing site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The customer portal uses a single strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. Any analytics we use is privacy-friendly and cookieless, and does not identify you individually.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate (for example our hosting/CDN provider and, where configured, an email-delivery provider), under appropriate agreements, and where required by law.

Retention

We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to handle your request and for our records. Portal and licence data is kept for the life of your account; if you ask us to delete it, licence history may be retained in anonymised form where we are required to keep it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. Portal users can download or request erasure of their data from the portal's privacy page. For anything else, contact us at [email protected]. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

International transfers

Where data is processed outside the UK by our providers, it is protected by appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses).
